#06:46:30grantjohnsonHappy Sat. AM.
#06:50:06grantjohnsonIf a change was applied in the config_metabib "weight" column, and in the search.relevance_adjustment multiplier column does anything need to be restarted for the changes to be applied?

#08:33:07dmcmorrisgrantjohnson: no restarts are needed for changes to the config.metabib... entries. The only manual function needed is when you completely add or remove entries
#08:33:33dmcmorrisI do not believe any action is needed whatsoever to changes made to search.relevance_adjustment

#10:31:11grantjohnsonThanks gents. I thought as much.. but was requested to ask. :-)
#11:08:14phasefxI re-created some ACL's for dokuwiki on evergreen-ils.org, which got blown away. Would appreciate the acqdev admins double-checking things
#11:09:31miker_grantjohnson: however, cached results will have to expire before the same searches will return results ranked by the new settings
#11:10:35phasefxgrantjohnson: http://evergreen-ils.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=scratchpad:oaitoolkit
#11:35:55grantjohnsonmiker_: phasefx: ah yes... thanks
#11:47:42grantjohnsonmiker_: I can clear/reload the cache this way? #cat /var/lib/postgresql/8.2/main/base/16384/* > /dev/null as root.

#12:32:13DougFhello... i have just finished installing 1.6 on a new install of debian 5.0... everything seems to go well but when i get ot the testing step.. i cant log on using admin -open-ils. I ran the settings-tester script... and nothign seems to jump out at me... i think im close but missing soemthing simple?
#12:37:44DougFi'll paste the settings-tester.log if that helps
#12:37:54lisppaste3DougF pasted "settings-tester" at http://paste.lisp.org/display/93492

#13:06:43phasefxDougF: have you seen this page? http://evergreen-ils.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=troubleshooting:checking_for_errors
#13:10:53DougFlet me review that

#13:40:26miker_grantjohnson: no, it's a different cache -- the search result cache in memcache. you could stop everything, restart memcache, then start everything up ... but it'll all expire over night

#14:02:03DougFphasefx: router seems to start ok, but it doesnt look like perl is. The doc u referenced doesnt seem to be eactly the sam using 1.6.0.0 I dont see a log file for perl at all
#14:03:28phasefxafter attempting start_perl, the only files you see in /openils/var/log/ are for the routers?
#14:04:06DougFcorrect
#14:04:43phasefxwhat was the output from start_perl?
#14:05:08DougFhmmm.. when i stop perl.. there are 16 pids that are listed... let me do the start again
#14:06:10phasefxmay be worth doing rm /openils/var/run/*.pid after a stop_all
#14:09:36lisppaste3DougF annotated #93492 "start_perl" at http://paste.lisp.org/display/93492#1
#14:10:55phasefxthat looks good. if you do ps -aef | grep -i opensrf do you see those processes?
#14:11:40DougFyes... i could have sore i was typing that command corretly before.. but i see the processes
#14:11:50DougFls
#14:12:09DougFand i have log files now
#14:12:12phasefxI'd check the logs for errors, and if none, go on to start_c
#14:12:55DougFgrep for ERR returned none... i'll try start_c now
#14:15:36DougFlooks like that started.. let me review the doc u suggested above to see what my next steps are....
#14:18:06DougF???? got me.. looks like it is working now? I cant think of anything I changed??? well.. let me go back to testing. thanks for your help
#14:19:49phasefxthings like stale pid files from unclean shutdowns, or osft_ctl.sh invocations without the -l, could have messed it up
#14:20:58DougFut oh.. i just notice one thing... i just started thoses processes as root. they are supposed to be run under opensrf right? I better kill em and try again correct?
#14:21:50DougFexit
#14:22:29DougFwhoops.. no.. i didnt.. i was looking at the # in the srfsh prompt... sorry.. been looking at this too long today
